The main area of focus is the local culture and heritage.
Holistic farming techniques are employed here to overcome the arid conditions of the Kalahari, and to help prevent damage to this delicate environment. Guests can take a tour of the farm with Hans who will explain in detail these techniques and taste the difference in the home-cooked meals that consist of meat and vegetables that can be found on the farm, which include succulent lamb, organic vegetables, smoked game and Kalahari truffles if there have been good rains. Guests will also learn how carpets are made; seeing first how the wool is cleaned, spun and finally woven into intricate carpets. The farm has also taken steps to support and promote local art; guests can visit the indigenous Karakul carpet weavers, or the gallery at the farm itself, containing a range of African carpets, rugs, jewellery, art and curios.
