Perched on a hill overlooking the city, this castle-like structure was built in 1914 by Count von Schwerin for his fiancée and still retains its romantic charm. Having just 16 rooms makes it more intimate than many of the larger Windhoek hotels, and its well tended garden provides a welcome retreat from the bustle of the city centre.
The rooms are spacious and decorated in a manner befitting this historic building.
The hotel is a ten to 15 minute walk from the town centre but, as with most establishments in Windhoek, it is not advisable to walk after dark.
