Perched on the top of a hill looking out towards the Auas Mountains and surrounding wilderness, this lodge is great for those wanting to escape the bustle of Windhoek, see some of Namibia's beautiful scenery and wildlife, as well as possibly enjoying some of the spa treatments available.

The name GocheGanas comes from the Damara word meaning "place of camelthorns, abounding with candle-pod acacias" and the 6000 hectare reserve has a wide variety of both fauna and flora including 25 different species of large game as well as many smaller animals. These include rhino, bat-eared fox, giraffe, mountain and plains zebra, cheetah, jackal and leopard, blue and black wildebeest, eland, oryx, red hartebeest, kudu, springbok, waterbuck, steenbok, duiker, klipspringer, ostrich and warthog.

The individual thatched chalets are spacious and all have wooden decks that offer sweeping vistas across the bushy savannah to the mountains beyond. While summers are warm, winter nights can be very chilly due to the high altitude, and it might be necessary to pack some warm clothes.

Infants up to two years of age sharing with parents stay free of charge. Children between the ages of three and 13 years sharing with parents will be charged a discounted rate.

If notice of cancellation is given 14 days before arrival date or less, or in the case of no show, there is a 100 % cancellation fee. Notice given 15 to 21 days before the booked arrival date results in a 75 % cancellation fee. Notice given 22 to 30 days before arrival results in a 50 % cancellation fee and notice of 30 days or more before arrival results in a 25 % cancellation fee.
