The route to the coast takes you down the Gamsberg Pass and through the Namib, the landscape varying from rocky mountains to endless desert plains. You explore the Moon Landscape near Swakopmund, the beautiful Erongo mountains and the rock formation at Vingerklip before heading to Etosha National Park for some serious game viewing. The final night of the tour is at the lovely Frans Indongo Lodge near Waterberg.

Day 1: Windhoek – Swakopmund.
After you are collected from your accommodation in Windhoek the safari travels through the rolling hills of the Khomashochland at an altitude of more than 2000 meters above sea level, down the Gamsberg Pass into the Namib, which is the oldest desert in the world. The landscape varies from rugged mountains and rocky outcrops to sand-filled valleys and endless vistas of plains.After a short rest with lunch packs, you proceed through the Namib-Naukluft Park, passing the water-holes Ganab and Hotsas where, with a bit of luck, one can see ostriches, springbok, Oryx and mountain zebras. Then on to the Welwitschia plain, where the Welwitschia plant, you will have a chance to see a living fossil, which is only found in the Namib and southern Angola, occurs in large numbers. Then you’ll drive to the so called "Moon Valley" - a fascinating rock formation which is millions of years old. You’ll arrive in Swakopmund at about sunset. Lunch packs will be en route.

Day 2: Walvis Bay & Swakopmund.
After breakfast, you’ll depart to Walvis Bay for a boat cruise with champagne, fresh oysters and snacks on board. Then you’ll return to Swakopmund. In the afternoon, there’s a city tour through Swakopmund and you’ll spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 3: Swakopmund - Erongo Region.
You’ll leave Swakopmund on the tarred road towards the town of Usakos. This drive will takes you through a rocky section of the Namib Desert as we head towards the interior. You then will pass the Spitzkoppe Mountains and proceed to the beautiful Erongo mountain area. You will arrive in time for a late afternoon sundowner drive.

Day 4: Erongo – Vingerklip.
Early morning start as you spend around 3-hour drive in an open vehicle on the premises of the lodge. The purpose of this excursion is to see some of the numerous pre-historic rock-paintings. After this experience you’ll proceed northwards through the area of Damaraland to the Ugab Valley. The accommodation tonight is at the Vingerklip Lodge, which is situated in close vicinity to a spectacular rock outcrop called the 'Vingerklip' (Rock Finger). The area has several walking trails and the short walk from the lodge to the Vingerklip can be a rewarding experience.

Day 5: Vingerklip - Etosha national Park.
Today the safari leaves the Damaraland region and heads towards the famous Etosha National Park. You should arrive around lunch time and you will have our first game-viewing drive.

Day 6: Etosha.
There is a full day game-viewing in the Etosha National Park. This national park is one of the major sanctuaries for wildlife in Africa. The area was proclaimed a game reserve as far back as 1907. The size is 2, 2270 km2 and it consists mainly of bush and grass savanna. This type of landscape provides excellent opportunities for game-viewing at the numerous waterholes or in the open countryside. The Etosha Pan, which the park is named after, is approximately 6,000 km2 in size. In the language of the Ovambo people, Etosha means "place of dry water", or "large white place". There is a lunch break in between.

Day 7: Etosha.
After breakfast you’ll proceed via Tsumeb to the Hoba Meteorite. En route you’ll visit Lake Otjikoto and the Mine Museum. Then you head south down the main B1 highway towards the Waterberg Plateau.

Day 8: Etosha - Waterberg region.
There is an early morning game-viewing drive including a drive to the plateau on the grounds of the lodge. In the afternoon you’ll enjoy the sunset at the "Hippo Pool".

Day 9: Windhoek.
You’ll return to Windhoek via Okahandja where you will have a chance to visit the graves of the Herero chiefs and of the German Schutztruppe. You’ll arrive in Windhoek in the late afternoon.
